First international study about CI in large-scale companies
Gayer Consulting, a management consulting firm in Essen, takes over the German part of the first, internationally based empirical study about Competitive as well as Business Intelligence (CI/BI) activities in Germany.
Interviews with managers responsible for CI/BI issues within the 100 largest German business enterprises are to be executed between March 7th up to April 15th, 2005. Afterwards, the results shall be analyze and until end of May 2005 will be presented as a country report. The complete international results with country comparisons will be expected for end of August 2005.
From academic side , Gayer Consulting is supported by the chair of Marketing at Ruhr University Bochum.
On international level, the research project is initiated by the Institute of Business Information Management (www.tut.fi/tita/en) at Tampere University of Technology, and coordinated with world-wide scope
- in close cooperation with Global Intelligence Alliance (GIA).
The Institute of Business Information Management executed a study about CI/BI already in 2002. At that time, the 50 largest Finnish and Canadian companies were questioned in each case. The results were published in several specialist journals and met great interest in the academic world as well as the rapidly growing community of CI-Professionals. Analogously to this of much heeded preliminary study, present structures and processes as well as future expectations in CI/BI shall be examined therefore now under the extended country scope of Europe, America and Asia.
The study results will be published and serve scientific research purposes and as for benchmarking of economic systems with consideration on the specific CI/BI - organization.
